Compact
Fluorescent Light Bulbs are more than miniature versions of full-sized
fluorescents. Their compact design allows them to be used as replacement
bulbs for nearly any traditional incandescent bulb or wisely choose CFL's
as a first choice! Did you know that electric lighting burns up to 20%
of the average home energy budget? If you want to get the most for your
lighting dollar, choose compact fluorescent bulbs over conventional incandescent
bulbs and you save money on the cost of electricity for lighting!
Perhaps the easiest way to get a good grasp of a CFLs performance/value is to review incandescent terminology. Such as… "using a 100 watt light bulb." That is like saying "I got a speeding ticket for driving my car 18 miles per gallon fast!" or saying "the Indianapolis 500 was won with an average speed of 3.7 miles per gallon!" "Watt" is a unit of energy we pay for to make the bulb work; but we really buy light bulbs for how much light they can give us… and that is measured in Lumens, not Watts. So when we say a 25 Watt CFL is equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent we mean they both put out the same amount of Lumens.

CFLs are four times more energy efficient than incandescent. For example, a 25-watt CFL emits the same amount of light (lumens) as a 100-watt incandescent but uses 78% less energy! Produce the same amount of light, while you save money on electric bills!
A
CFL is a long life light bulb. They last up to 10 times longer than incandescent
bulbs. Install compact fluorescent and forget changing it again for years!
(The last time I changed my Yard Light was 2 years ago!) VERY convenient!
Because of their advanced technology, CFL's also give the flexibility to choose a color (light wavelength) to suit specific applications. Tired eyes or poor eyesight make reading a struggle? Choose specific wavelengths (see chart below) to alleviate eyestrain. A minor miracle!
